Sweet Shilo came to us back in December. HERE is that story. Its almost been two months and he is still with us. Shilo has come a long way since we first met him. When he arrived at our home he would not let us touch him. He didn't understand it. He was always protecting himself and he was always scared. He seems to feel much more secure but he still gets worried about things that shouldn't bother him and every day we try to set his mind at ease, that it will all be okay.
Shilo is kind of a loner, he wants to play with the other dogs but he isn't sure how to get involved. When the others are running through the house, he will run after them. If they turn around to include him, he runs away. He doesn't like going in his kennel when we aren't home, but we can't leave him out because of Asha. Asha will wander the house and if she runs into Shilo, he will snap at her. We can't have that!
We have tried just about everything to make his kennel a happy place,
but I am thinking it just won't ever be. Shilo needs to go to a home
where they won't want to kennel him. He shakes when we put him in
there, which is better than the biting that he used to do. Progress.
We call him Potato, I don't know why, we just do. We love him so very much and know that he will be a challenge to get adopted and that's okay. If he wasn't with us, who knows where he would be. He can stay as long as he likes.
